Project Labor Agreements

The New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Labor Management Council is committed to increasing awareness regarding the benefits associated with Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) within the private and public sectors.

In New Jersey, where PLAs are required for all publicly funded projects including school construction, the Council is working in collaboration with the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) www.njscc.com to facilitate these community-based agreements designed to guarantee on-time, within-budget school construction projects.

The LMC currently serves as a liaison working in collaboration with numerous school boards, administrators and teacher, parent and community groups throughout the state to develop and implement PLAs. To increase awareness of the benefits associated with these agreements, the Council launched an educational campaign that includes a comprehensive question-and-answer educational brochure entitled, "Project Labor Agreements: A Formula for Successful School Construction Projects."
